A brief history
Our Troop Patch tells the story of our origins. Troop 81 was founded in 1967 (originally Troop 23) by the Chelmsford Farms Association. Meetings were at the Rod and Gun Club, which is now the Russell Mill Pond Swim Club. In 1965, Aldersgate United Methodist Church (AUMC) was built and became the Charter Organization for the Troop, which then became Troop 81. We were part of the Penacook District out of the Greater Lowell Council. We are currently part of the Westwind District in the Spirit of Adventure Council. We are now over 50 years old and have over 70 Eagle Scouts!
